Poozies and the Four Winds

Poozies and the Four Winds St. Andrews in the square

28 Jan 2016  Celtic Connections.

St. Andrews in the square is a great venue although I have to say the sound on this occasion was not really up to the usual high standard, it did improve when the Poozies took to the stage.

Both bands were great with the Four Winds having travelled in from Ireland that day. They are living proof of the importance of the Danny Kyle Open Stage as an opportunity for bands to show their skills, they were a leading act in last years DK and showed why they were so popular.

The Poozies made up of , harp, guitar, accordian and fiddle were celebrating their 25th anniversary as a group and did so in style. The large audience in St. Andrews loved it and again the level and depth of talent at Celtic Connections is massively impressive. Their harmonies were as beautiful as their solo singing. I really hope they continue for another 25 years.
