Yes ye landlubbers – come and join the Pirate Crew of Celtic Music Radio from 12 -5pm with live music (and the CMR crack!) when they take to the high seas – well Forth and Clyde Canal!  Join this brilliant event 15 minutes from the heart of the City.

Join the press gang team of CMR as they are put through their paces bringing you some of the finest young Scottish artists to play to you!  We will broadcast live from 12 -5 ! so join in the fun! We will be on ye old towpath beside the Whisky Bond!

Hannah will be releasing her debut Album  ‘ Neath The Gloaming Star’ on 2nd September 2018 which features some of Scotland’s most sought after young musical talent, as well as folk legend, Phil Cunningham. The album features interpretations of songs from the folk genre she embraces so effortlessly, which includes Scots song from a number of sources, self-penned tracks and heart-wrenching covers of some of Scotland’s greatest songwriters, including Davy Steele’s Rose O’ Summerlee and Silly Wizard frontman Andy M. Stewart’s ‘Where Are You (Tonight, I Wonder)?’.

Two hour of music from the Queen of Soul. A look back at her vast recorded legacy, from her Gospel 45s as a 15 year-old to her duet with George Michael – her only UK No1.

But the vast majority of the show will look at her magisterial output on Atlantic Records. Her first 10 albums and singles are the equal of any recorded artist and we’ll be playing loads of the good stuff. With maybe one or two wee surprises thrown in for luck.

With the emergence of the new innovative music of the likes of Martyn Bennett / Shooglenifty / Croft No Five  whose music Dolphin Boy transcended into the  club scene in the early 2000 took the music to an entirely different receptive scene  culminating in  his first album Gateaux Youth in  2003 ; 2005 his powerful remix of his composition McKay’s Memoirs  after the untimely death of Maryn Bennett  ; then  Verticil Variations 2009 with artists such as Aidan O’Rourke (Lau, Kan), Roisin Elsafty, Alyth McCormack, John McSherry & Donal O’Connor, James Grant, Ross Ainslie & Jarlath Henderson and Monica Queen.

How Hamish came to this new project!

‘ Well…having lived and worked in Glasgow for 17 years I finally took the bold step of moving back North to the Highlands where I grew up. As much of my work remains in Glasgow, I find myself a regular passenger on the railways for the first time in my life.

When I performed The River (2015) live in Grantown in summer ’16, Karen approached me enthusiastically after the show, inviting me to compose a soundtrack to her exciting new venture, the Grantown East: Highland Heritage & Cultural Centre.’
