Colm’s earliest musical memories are infused with strains of traditional Celtic music and song. He has been a member of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann since childhood, and is to be found lurking at many a Glasgow Session and at all sorts of festivals, fleadhs, jams, scrapes and shindigs elsewhere.
After searching in vain for a day job that didn’t cramp his musical style (he’s been a gardener, philosophy student, call-centre rep, programmer, web designer, windfarm bit-putter-onner) he’s now organises events for the Irish language group Conradh na Gaeilge, and plays at the occasional concert and ceilidh.
Colm hosts ‘Tabhair dom do lámh’, a bilingual magazine show that focuses on Glasgow’s Irish-speaking community, Tuesdays at 6.00pm on Celtic Music Radio.
