Paul Hughes

Paul Hughes

Paul Hughes has been around music and broadcasting for most of his life.

His father, Kenny Hughes owned music shops in the southside of Glasgow which started Paul’s obsession for collecting instruments.  He currently has around 40 instruments ranging from whistles, melodicas and bodhrans to double bass, piano and a drum kit – most of which he freely admits to playing badly.

His main instruments are guitar, six string banjo, bouzouki and the Cuatro de Puerto Rico.

Paul has been involved with broadcasting since he was at University of Glasgow and in the last 15 years has worked across the UK as a journalist, presenter, editor and manager for ITV, ITN, STV, GMTV, BBC and now….. Celtic Music Radio!

Paul Hughes Late Night on Tuesdays 10.00-11.00pm for the best in folk and roots music from around the world.
