Sandy joined Celtic Music Radio after winning a raffle at the station fundraiser at the Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow on 5 September 2009. His prize was to produce his own two hour programme.
He enjoyed it so much that Sandy now hosts his own regular Sunday Breakfast show from 8.00 am until 10.00am and is known as ‘Yer host wi’ the toast’.
Sandy says it’s his love of all things Scottish thats kept him interested in Scottish and folk music since childhood. Listening to the radio rather than the watching television gives him a keen ear for what makes a quality radio programme. Folk and Celtic music play a very big part in his life nowadays and being a part of the team here at the station is like a dream come true.
His other interest is in motorsport. Sandy has been part of the pit crew and PR team at a highly successful Formula 1 sidecar racing team and has been involved in other froms of motorsport throughout the UK and Europe.
