Album of the Week 6th October 2018. Body & Soul by Katee Kross

21-year-old Scottish singer-songwriter from Bishopbriggs near Glasgow. Katee has already worked with some top names including Dougie MacLean, Barbara Dickson, Karine Polwart, James Grant, John Doyle, Findlay Napier, Tony McManus and Seasick Steve.

Katee has written and released two full length albums. The first, ‘Beautiful Dreamer’ was released on the 26th March 2016, with the second ‘Don’t Fade To Grey’ just a year later. A beautiful progression of original music following a young artist as she matures as a songwriter.

The Amberjax are a four piece band made up of lead guitarist Ross Barron, bassist Mark Hendry and drummer Graham Costello with the newest member of the band, Tommy McGuire, on electric guitar and vocals .

As a band have been given many compliments about how they add to Katee’s overall sound and have joined Katee supporting Seasick Steve at Kelvingrove Bandstand in Glasgow, King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Millport Country Music Festival and more.

“Body & Soul” is her third album with The Amberjax and its music represents the hope that exists despite the terrible times and darkness that surrounds us collectively and as individuals.

A beautiful flower rising up out of the fire.

Several of the tracks are dark, some with happy endings and some without, but most importantly it’s the third part of my journey as a artist and songwriter.

Expected release: October 13, 2018
