Album of The Week – Show of Hands -The Long Way Home

Today our Album of The Week features Show of Hands ‘The Long Way Home’ which will have a general release on 15 January 2016 7pm

2016 is a landmark year for Steve Knightley and Phill Beer marking the 25 years on the road for the Show of Hands and this new album is their 25 (including compilations and projects!)
I caught up with Steve who was in the studio at the time, who told me that the album was being well received at their gigs and producers alike.

For instance Colin from Folk Roots said ‘The landmark new release sees the band returning to their musical folk roots. ‘Immaculately packaged, beautifully produced, finely recorded’ and ‘a thoughtful album of warm shades and lower temperature that sounds surprisingly…well…folkie’ – Colin Irwin, fRoots

5 songs beautifully crafted by Steve along with reworked traditional tunes brings their music to a new audience while still bringing the faithful with them. Would get your order in quickly for this one. We need to see them up in Scotland – too good to be missed.

The lads have also very generously offer us a signed CD on release on 15 January to the person who is able to answer the following question ‘How many individual strings do Show of Hands have on stage with them?’  you can send your answer to –  completion@celticmusicradio.net
