Album of the Week: Peatbog Faeries – ‘Dust’

The Celtic Music Radio CD Album of the Week commencing Saturday 30 July is from the Peatbog Faeries with their ‘Dust’.

Based on the Isle of Skye, the band have become one of Scotland’s best known names in contemporary folk music. They have twice won “Live Act of the Year” at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards and have taken their own individual brand of Scottish tunes to audiences around the world from European Festivals to Asia, Africa, America, Canada and Australia.

The Peatbogs have recorded five studio albums with their first live release in April 2009 and their latet CD is titled Dust is due for release on the 8 August 2011.

According to the Peatbogs:  “Early reaction from the Peatbogs 7th album would suggest “Dust” is the band at their best. Some new blood with Peter Tickell on fiddle and Stu Haikney on drums as well as a slight change in direction all help ‘Dust’ come across as something fresh and exciting.”

Listen to Album of the Week on Saturday 30 July 2011 at 12 midnight and on Monday 1 August at 6.00pm.
