Texas singer Kimmie Rhodes on Friday ‘Homeward Bound’

Austin, Texas singer Kimmie Rhodes plays CCA, Sauchiehall Street,  Glasgow on Friday 18 May and prior to her gig, Kimmie will be live in studio 1 of Celtic Music Radio having a chat to Bill Morris.

Native Texan singer-songwriter Kimmie Rhodes appeared at Celtic Connections’ Texas Song Writers night two years ago in 2010.

She has worked with Townes Van Zandt, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson while her multi-platinum selling songs have been recorded by such stellar acts as Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood, Waylon Jennings and Emmylou Harris.

On Sunday’s Festival Fling Extra, Liz introduces Siobhan Miller & Jeana Leslie recorded at the 2011 Glenfarg Folk Fest in Fife.

Jeana Leslie and Siobhan Miller are two very talented, shining new stars on the Scottish Music scene.  Since winning the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 2008 it has been a whirlwind rise for the young Scots duo who combine instrumental versatility with sublime harmonies and heart-rending performances of traditional songs.

Ciaran’s Sunday Session will this week have as ’guest’ castaway  Welshman Robin Ap Clericus now living in Brechin, Angus.

Robin is a musician, composer and plays these instruments – hurdygurdy, fujara, pipes, whistles, drums and keyboard who plays a mixture of paganfolk and medieval music with a modern twist and has a new album called Harlequin.

Also joining Ciaran tonight will be regular listener My Sjöholm (pictured left) who has travelled over from Finland just to appear on the programme.
