Teenage Kicks Christmas with The Saw Doctors & The Vinylheads

Teenage Kicks Christmas with The Saw Doctors & The Vinylheads

Dec 23, 2014

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas in Glasgow without the Saw Doctors writes Edmund McKay.

They have played Glasgow Barrowland more than any other band – 35 times in 20 years and that’s not counting early support gigs.

So it’s fair to say it’s an institution.

As the lads are currently on a sabbatical, I decided that if we can’t have the Saw Doctors in Glasgow, then Celtic Music Radio would do the next best thing and bring the Saw Doctors to our listeners, so as a Christmas night special, I will be presenting our very own cyber concert.

Tune in on Christmas night, Thursday 25 December at 8.00pm for this special Teenage Kicks featuring the Saw Doctors live in concert recorded in Galway, Ireland.

Hear all the old favourites and grab the opportunity to throw your arms around in semaphore signals (Tommy K to the initiated), jump up and down and wave your hands in the air (Hay Wrap) or wrap your arms around each other and smooch (Clare Island).

Our special Saw Doctors gig will have its very own support act in the form of The Vinylheads (pictured below) who are cousins from Monaghan, Roscommon andvinylheads Kildare in Ireland. They are a 5-piece indie Irish band, who play infectious pop-rock songs. Their debut album “Kicks” will be released February 2015.

Teenage Kicks Christmas Day Special – The Saw Doctors and The Vinylheads in concert, Christmas Day, Thursday 25 December at 8.00-10.00pm.  Repeated Boxing Day, Friday 26 December 1.00-3.00pm plus Catch Up anytime.
