Celtic Music Radio will be live today, Saturday 5 November from Perthshire Amber with the Open Mic Session at the Wee Festival Hall at the Royal Dunkeld Hotel, Dunkeld in Highland Perthshire.

Celtic Music Radio is honoured to be broadcasting these concerts LIVE from Perthshire Amber – The Dougie MacLean Festival, as well as the Open Mic Concerts on Saturday 29th October and 5th November 12 noon until 5.00pm with Ross Macfadyen and Alex Jenkins.

Celtic Connections 2012 was officially launched on Tuesday 25 October at The Glasgow Royal Concert with Catalan band Sol i Serena visiting Glasgow to celebrate the connections between Spannish and Celtic music ahead of their performance at the internationally renowned folk, roots, traditional and world music festival that is Celtic Connections in January.

Celtic Connections 2012 runs from Thursday 19 January to Sunday 5 February 2011 and will feature 2,100 artists, 300 events over 18 days at 20 venues.

Liz Clark on her programme on Tuesday evening 25 October will preview a few of the highlights and Gordon Hotchkiss on Wednesday night 26 October will focus on the Scottish and Irish acts appearing.

Celtic Music Radio will be live from Perthshire Amber – the Dougie MacLean Festival at ‘Amber Central’ base in Dunkeld again this Saturday 5 November from 12 noon following last week’s successful broadcast from Dunkeld.

Perthshire Amber takes place in venues across Perthshire from Friday 28 October until Sunday 6 November in a very picturesque and enchanting region of Scotland which is arguably at its most beautiful during the autumn months.  From delightful village and town halls where visitors will feel the warmest of welcomes to the grandeur of Blair Castle and Castle Menzies at Weem near Aberfeldy to a tiny Iron Age Crannog, the stunning new Caledonia Hall at Edradour Distillery, Pitlochry and ancient Dunkeld Cathedral.

Celtic Music Radio with Ross Macfadyen will be at Perthshire Amber and will include the Open Mic sessions from 12 noon until 6.00pm.  The sessions start at 1.00pm and are hosted by Perthshire muscian Ewen Sutherland at The Wee Festival Hall at Amber Central at The Royal Dunkeld Hotel, Atholl Street, Dunkeld.

The Celtic Music Radio outside broadcast team are getting ready for their next ‘live’ festival broadcast and this time it is over the sea in the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran which is described as ‘Scotland in miniature’.

The Arran Folk Festival features a weekend of concerts, sessions and ceilidhs mostly around the main village of Brodick where the ferry arrives from the mainland.

Celtic Music Radio will be on Arran and  at the sessions and concerts on Saturday 11 June.  More information to follow.

The 17th Arran Folk Festival takes place fromThursday 9 June to Sunday 12 June 2011 in and around Brodick on the Isle of Arran.

Tickets are now available for purchase online for this weekend of sessions, concerts, and ceilidhs.

The festival launches on Thursday 9 June at 7:30pm  with a Welcoming Concert and Ceilidh in Brodick Hall, Brodick with tickets at just £10.

On Friday 10 June at1:30pm there is a free entry Open Session, Ormidale Hotel, Brodick and in the evening at 7:30pm there is a Concert in Brodick Hall with tickets £12.50.  The concert features Robyn & Amie, The Average Folk Band and Lorne MacDougall & Friends.

On Saturday 11 June at 1:30pm there is another free Open Session at the Ormidale Pavilion, Brodick.  In the evening at 7:30pm there is a Concert at Brodick Hall. Tickets are £15.00 and the night features the Morgan Lee Band and The Picts.

The Arran Folk Festival ends on Sunday 12 June with a free Open Session from 1.30pm at the Ormidale Pavilion, Brodick.  At 9:00pm there is the Final Session at the Ormidale Hotel, Brodick with again free admission. More details and news on the Arran Folk Festival website.

The Isle of Arran Folk Festival has a weekend of sessions, concerts and ceilidhs on the island which is described as being Scotland in minature.  Sail to Arran from Ardrossan to Brodick across the Firth of Clyde.
