Rothbury Traditional Music Festival 13 – 15 July 2018

Come and join this well-established Festival in a friendly community who keep their own dialect and music alive and kicking – whit children and adults alike writing in dialect as well as the rich heritage of the land that surrounds them – they make everyone welcome and you will have a weekend to remember!

This year Rothbury welcomes :-

The Heathen Kings / Johnston & Gordon /Absolutely Legless / The Travellers /Ian Douglas /Jack Wilkinson /Old Heads on the Block /James Tait / Rothbury Pipe & Neilston Pipe Bands

Friday 13

8:30 Ceilidh with Old Heads on the Block – Jubilee Hall

Saturday 14

9:30am – Children’s Competitions – in All Saints Church

8:00pm – Piping & Singing Session – in the ‘Coquetvale Hotel’ – The Coquetvale welcomes Northumbrian Pipers & Singers to their Hotel for an informal session evening.

10:00am – 12:00pm – WORKSHOPS – Northumbrian Piping get together – an informal piping session before the start of the competitions (self led) in the Dovecot Room, Jubilee Hall.

12:30pm – 5:00pm – Open Competitions

10:30am – 12:00pm – Irish Dance Workshop  – Jubilee Hall

Outside Stage

12:00pm – 3:45pm – Rothbury & Neilston Pipe Bands Parade,  Highland Dancers – plus much, much more…..

Evening Concerts

6:30pm – All Saints Church Acoustic Concert – featuring this years Festival Guests and Competition Winners.

8:00pm – Piping and Singing Session at the Coquetvale Hotel – The Coquetvale Hotel welcomes Northumbrian pipers and singers to their hotel for an informal evening session

8:30pm ’til Late – Non Dancing Ceilidh in the Mart – Featuring The Heathen Kings, Johnston & Gordon, Absolutely Legless to name but a few

Sunday 15

11:00am – 12:30pm – Final Fling with the ‘festival stalwarts band’. Come along and join in.

12:00pm onwards – Sessions throughout the pubs and hotels in the village for those festival survivors still standing
