LIVE FROM Glasgow St Patrick’s Festival Family Day

The Glasgow St. Patrick’s Festival 2014 launched on 5 March for 12 days of Irish music and culture celebration to mark St Patrick’s Day.

Most events taking place in and around the Merchant Square and Merchant City area of Glasgow city centre where the Festival Family Day takes place on Saturday 15 March from 12 noon until 5.30pm and will be broadcast live on Celtic Music Radio.

Other venues include Sloan’s, Argyll Arcade off Argyle Street in Glasgow city centre; Langside Halls in Shawlands in the southside of Glasgow; Govanhill Neighbourhood Centre in Daisy Street, Govanhill; The Glad Café at Shawlands Cross; Cottiers Theatre in the west end of Glasgow and the Couper Institute in Cathcart on the southside.

The Glasgow St Patrick’s Festival esteems to promote and celebrate the rich Irish cultural heritage of Glasgow and Scotland. The multi-generational Irish community in Scotland have through the years contributed positively to all sectors of Scottish society.

The festival looks to act as a vehicle to continue to celebrate this Irish tapestry while promoting and celebrating the cultural diversity of modern Scotland. Glasgow’s St. Patrick’s festival is open to all the citizens of Scotland.
