Jane McKeown

Jane graduated from the Ayr Campus of the University of Paisley (now known as the University of the West of Scotland) last year with a degree in film and media.

She plays bass and sings with the Glasgow band 'Peter Parker' and before that, she played bass with Lung Leg for six years and in 2000 with others, formed The Mars Hotel in the east end of Glasgow. She has been involved in the Glasgow music scene for many years. Her brother, Jackie McKeown plays in another Glasgow band called The 1990s.

According to Jane's myspace site, her interests include music with singing; songs about defeat; songs about being plucked from the jaws of victory; animal sounds with a particular fondness for cats. Her favourite films are Bad Timing and Rosemary's Baby and in reading, the books A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick and the last seven pages of A Handful of Dust - Evelyn Waugh’s 1934 novel of aristocratic decadence in England between the wars.

Jane is never far away from a gig, recording or jam session.
