Listen Again – First Hour  Second Hour

Libby Koch

From Houston now in Austin TX Describing Americana singer-songwriter Libby Koch (pronounced like the soft drink) as “country meets soulful,”  ‘’Gospel grounded and honky-tonk voice’’ powerful emotions all inherent in her fourth album ‘Just Moving On’ gives you a hefty insight into this artist and her influences from Patsy Cline , Loretta Lynn , Dolly Parton and Emmylow Harris, Libby fills her songs with ‘intimacy and honesty’ that triumph of empowerment rather than pain and loss’. It was a lucky break to her fans the day she gave up law and took to her true calling – music !

Chuck Hawthorne

‘’He bent minors out of majors with a ball-peen revelator. Lord, how he could make that hammer sing!”

An Amarillo, Texas native, Chuck Hawthorne has been writing and performing for over 20 years amassing a catalog of unique, well-crafted and starkly honest songs. They’re sometimes deadly serious; sometimes raucous, and always passionately written and delivered. As fellow musician Shawn T. Pabst once remarked, “…A man with the courage of a warrior, the heart of a poet, and a soul as old as time.”

Cuck took his music with him as a Marine touring the world when back home his song writing began in earnest some 10 years ago  – his initial influences being  in the vain of Townes Van Zandt , Guy Clark, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Steve Earle and the like – culminating in his debut album ‘Silver Line’

Rachel Laven

From San Antonio TX  Racel grew up in a musical family, singing from age 5 she was a ‘latecomer’ to songwriting ‘only’ starting when she was ten years old – first full album at 13 and at the tender age of 24 has 3 family albums, 2 sola albumanand an EP OUT  ‘Focusing on topics that stem from a watchful, warm perspective, the delivery of her observations has a clean way of driving themes straight to the heart of a matter. She is able to sing her truths without weighing them down with unnecessary words or flowery nuances’. American Roots Music has a long tradition of proficient storytellers breathing life into the characters of their songs. In listening to Laven’s ballads you can hear the quality of her watchful eye surveying a scene, piecing together the most relevant colors and textures of a personality and giving easy shape to the characters that she describes.’
