Fergus Muirhead had Maggie MacInnes as his guest on his Monday night programme on 13 February. Maggie is one of Scotland’s foremost Gaelic singers and clarsach players. She comes from a long line of singers from the island of Barra in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.

Maggie MacInnes sings and plays the clarsach. She was born in Glasgow and now lives in Ayrshire and learns most of her songs from her mother the highly acclaimed traditional singer, Flora MacNeil MBE.
Maggie MacInnes Trio played the Celtic Connections Festival on 1 February 2012 and she will be taking part in various events at the traditional music school Sciol Cheoil an Earraigh from Wednesday 15 February to Sunday 19 February 2012 at Sciol Cheoil an Earraigh, Ballyferriter, Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry, Ireland.
