Matthew Gibb – Glasgow – 
Matthew Gibb is a young singer-songwriter from the Southside of  Glasgow. Over the last several  years he’s been performing covers and playing his own material at numerous and varied functions and events. He also busks. He has played live on Radio 1 and on many local Glasgow stations and has appeared on STV Glasgow. Matthew has a voice that just has to be heard. His love of music goes beyond singing to playing acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, drums, keyboard, ukulele and mandolin. Matthew enjoys playing to small audiences in cafés and bars but is also equally comfortable performing in front of thousands. He headlined at The Classic Grand back in July and had release an EP

Vera – Bishopton – 
Vera is a young band with a style that mixes elements of alternative rock and indie sounds. They have entertained audiences with sets suited to the occasion, acoustic for recording in grand echoey buildings to fast and loud for hyped late night gigs. The same, adjusted set worked for two very different audiences in the same day, so much so that a women who heard them at a convention cheered them on from her car window for their gig that night. Vera’s original songs are always well received and at a recent gig, even sang along to. Currently, the band is working on an EP with Lead Boot Records alongside Brick Lane Studios Paisley.

Mandulu & Hephzibah – Sabrina & Erin 
Contemporary Harmonic Female Folk Duo Mandulu and Hephzibah have been performing together for just over a year and are now establishing themselves in the Scottish scene.
This year alone they have a record deal on the table for their POP act Kodak Ghosts. They have supported Jill Jackson, James Grant and are supporting Martin Stephenson and the Daintees in Oran Mir on Nov 3 at Oran Mor.   Supported Double McLean and Skerryvore at Live at Tron back in Sep!

Anton O’Donnell – Airdrie –
Singer Songwriter Anton performs as a solo artist and also with his band the Coalts providing a combination of rock swagger, blues groove, and the rough and tumble of Americana is one few Scottish bands can match.” The Music BreweryThe ATC sound draws on numerous influences: the pristine vocal harmonies of country and bluegrass, raucous bluesy guitars, the tight swinging rhythms of classic soul and funk with Anton’s sweet smokey growl accompanied by tales of love, regret, addiction, good times, bad times and everything in-between.

Tripple – Annie Lennox/ Cait Lennox/ Jill Anderews –
Tripple are mostly an acppella group with close harmonies with a great love of Scottish traditional music as well as bringing older songs back to life. They have spent the year gigging around the festivals , holding workshops/ tutoring and active in groups such as SWAMP in Pollock / NYCOS / The Feis Rois Ceilidh Trail The North East Folk Collective.  They have also performed in Ireland/ Canada /USA/ France//Germany / Finland and Norway.

 

Hollie Robbins – Paisley
Hollie is a 14 year old and has been singing for a number of years, both locally and nationwide.  Last year she represented the UK in L.A. at the world championship of Performing Arts – winning 4 medals.   She then returned home and became the winner of Pailey’s Got Talent.   Earlier this summer Hollie released her debut EP called ‘Ten Years’ which she released at her headline gig at The Classic Grand in Glasgow.  Hollie recently performed at the Country Mus Festival in Millport where she was selected in the top 3

Barry Nisbet – Shetland –
Barry Nisbet is a Shetlander, a guitarist, sailor and fiddler with a scintillating musical style and a host of original Scottish songs inspired by the drama of the islands, history, the sea, and his own travels and life. He launched his first studio album A Bright Ray of Sunshine, recorded with his full 6-piece band, earlier in 2018 to excellent reviews.A member of various line-ups, from the traditional Shetland group ‘The Cullivoe Fiddlers’ to Scottish Americana extravaganza ‘Wire and Wool’ and Shetland band ‘Rack n Ruin’, he is working to build a career as a solo artist; he has recently played support for Salt House, Tidelines, The Furrow Collective, Eilidh Grant, Colum Sands and others, as well as with his band headlining the Dundee Summer Streets Festival

The BordererS – Australia – Jim Patterson & Denise Alex Alexander –
The Borderers have been voted Best World Music act at the Musicoz Awards and Best Gospel song at the Independent Music Awards in the USA. They have also just been voted S.A.’s Best Band and their new double album “Tales of Love & Loss” was the winner of the Best Album of the Year.The are over in Scotland on ’holiday’ and picking up some gigs along the way!

Zoe Tait – The Ladybugg – Johnstone
Is a a 16 year old singer songwriter Her songs are all written from personal experience so most people understand my writing style and where she is coming from. Influences include Jake Bugg, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Blossoms, Oasis, Rod Stewart and Amy Winehouse. Has brought out an EP and I Gigging in and around her local area as well as Glasgow.  Played on Radio Station’s across Scotland including Camglen Radio, Mearns FM and Radio Saltire  performed at as the headline act. 2017

Over the past few years, Paul has played at a range of pubs and clubs and open mics. Mostly in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth but also as far afield as Manchester, Bristol and Exeter. Last year he performed at the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow. It was his daughter’s wedding and he wasn’t missing that chance for a captive audience!!!.

Is a 16 year old singer/songwriter from Paisley who have been gigging in and out of Paisley for a little over a year now and had had some amazing gig opportunities for example – Last year she played Paisley Abbey along with James Grant and Carol Laula as part of Paisley’s The Untold Story Show for The Spree festival 2017. Also a runner-up for The Jim Diamond award last year, recently she played at St Mirren Stadium during half time. I also organised a family fun day as part of the year of the young people and a charity gig for The Beatson where we raised over £200 on the day.!

A bunch of veteran  musicians, Raging Twilight has been together since 2016.  The band’s first CD ‘Raging Twilight’ features songs based on travels through Utah, New Mexico and Texas. A mixture of blues and roots/americana with a strong injection of soul. Inspired by Dylan, The Band, CSNY, Lennon/McCartney, it has earned the band considerable plaudits. Fallen Arches  aka Colin Bell – Glasgow 
FALLEN ARCHES is the solo project from West of Scotland singer songwriter Colin Bell. He’s been busy touring his critically acclaimed Scottish album of the year (SAYaward18) nominated L.P. ‘Pen to Paper’ as well as gaining the reputation of being one of the best up and coming live acts Scotland has to offer. Definitely not to be missed

 

 

Ok Amigos – John McNamara/ Tim Black / Gordon Dickson 
Ok Amigos is a trio of time served ,battle – hardened stalwarts of the Glasgow music scene.  Stripped back to Guitar ,sax and percussion they still manage to serve up a heady cocktail musical styles, with influences Combining a  love of Blues, Jazz and Americana , underpinned with compelling and innovative swing and Latin rhythms, theirs is a unique and vibrant portfolio of songs and instrumentals. Self-penned offerings speak of quirky characters , escapist dreams and the vagaries of the human condition, via the rich, gravelly tones and intricate percussion of founder,  John McNamara. The band also takes on disparate selection of cover versions all given the  unique Amigos twist to inject dynamism, diversity and not a little levity. This is a band for the musical aficionado

Four seasoned musicians got together in 2016 and made their debut gig on the DKOS at Celtic Connections and went down a STORM, and have not stopped gigging since. From their fantastic whacky name– to their sheer enjoyment of their wonderful music – are a treat for any audience and listener alike! Their recorded releases have been well received and are asked back wherever they perform ! Well worth a listen too.

Joseph Miller – Paisley
Joseph Miller is a singer and songwriter based in Glasgow. In 2012 he started playing small shows around London. In early 2014 he independently released an acoustic collection of songs titled The ‘One-Take’ sessions which was very well receivedIn November of 2014 Joseph was personally selected by Christina to open for her on the Glasgow stop of her ‘Head or Heart Tour’.  Also opened for Stu Larsen, Tom Speight and Into The Ark as well as many of Glasgow’s very own rising talent as well headlined many of Glasgow’s most iconic venues – King Tuts, o2 ABC2, QMU, The Old Hairdressers, The Glad Café and Cottiers Theatre

The Greenock-based local luminary tells stories of love, life and laughter with well-crafted songs. Performing a capella and accompanied in her percussive guitar style, Shelagh has won awards at Inverclyde’s Scottish Folk and Roots Festival, Danny Kyle Open Stage (Celtic Connections) and shared stages with Alastair McDonald, Gaberlunzie, Rab Noakes, Archie Fisher, Jez Lowe, James Keelaghan, Sylvia Barnes, Siobhan Miller, James Grant and Maisie Peters. Shelagh is the founder/organiser/presenter/promoter of the Songwriters Uncovered series (Greenock’s Beacon Arts Centre) plus Permission to Sing and Freedom with Songwriting workshops. Traditional, Celtic, folk, roots, Americana and world fusion.

Trystin Folk – Harry Wilson and Mandy Brown
Harry and Mandy hailing from the Falkirk area gig locally and surrounding districts. Are firm favourites at The Nova Scotia Folk Club, Stirling and Falkirk Clubs with a collection of contemporary , folk and all genres’ in-between!

 

 

Sam Begbie – Glasgow
 Sam Begbie is singer-songwriter who draws on numerous genres for influence; blues, bluegrass, folk and soul. Predominately performing on guitar, banjo and mandolin, Sam is no stranger to juggling instruments. With a voice likened to that of Tim Buckley, he has played at Celtic Connections, Moniaive Folk Festival and gigs all over Glasgow.
