The Bothy Society

The Bothy Society was born in early 2020 founded by Jen Anderson and Nichola Bremaneson, and later joined by Grace Morton and is home to a vibrant family of Contemporary Scottish musicians and offers a range of music industry services including management, record label, bookings, sync and marketing. The Bothy Society is home to some of the best Scottish neo-trad and folk acts including Eabhal, Findlay Napier, Man of the Minch, HEISK, WHYTE and Adam Holmes.

Jen has worked in various music industry roles for a range of companies including Fiction Records (Universal) as an A&R scout, Sound Travels Live as a tour manager, DF Concerts as a promoter, King Tuts Recordings as a label manager and Back Yard Music as head of business affairs. She is passionate about digital and creative music marketing and also works as a senior lecturer of music business.

Nichola graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2019 with a Masters in Music Performance and gained her undergrad degree from the celebrated BA Applied Music course at the University of Strathclyde. Throughout her life, she has performed in a variety of bands and ensembles and has experience as a touring musician. Nichola knows what musicians need to make their jobs easier – on tour or closer to home – and she is passionate about the live music scene.

Grace is currently studying Philosophy in Glasgow, however, is passionate about the traditional music scene. She grew up on the Isle of Skye, learning Gàidhlig throughout her schooling. Traditional Scottish music has always been a huge part of her life, so she very quickly found home amidst the Trad music scene on moving to the city. Becoming immersed in the scene and the community it provided felt natural. She was drawn to both the energy and fun of the music, but also how it provided her with a sense of home amidst a new place.
