Album of the Week – Tide Lines ‘Glasgow Love Story’

Written by on June 21, 2025

This fourth album from Tide Lines is a deeply personal tribute to the city that has shaped the band’s journey.

Its twelve tracks capture Glasgow’s people, places and spirit through evocative storytelling and anthemic indie-folk melodies. Glasgow is very close to the band’s heart.

From their first casual meet up in a West End bar in 2016, to subsequent rehearsals in a Finnieston studio, right through to their recent induction into the Barrowland Hall of Fame, the city has remained a central influence in the band’s story.

Vocalist and guitarist Robert Robertson summed up their feelings when he said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to be releasing this album as this amazing city has been a constant influence on our music and our lives – not to mention playing host to some of our favourite ever gigs.

“So, I guess it was only a matter of time before our adopted hometown inspired a Tide Lines album.”

The band will be talking about the album and their music as well as live dates with Auntie Liz Clark on our Album of the Week Show today at midday.
