Album of the Week – Peggy Seeger ‘Teleology’

Written by on August 2, 2025

This is Peggy Seeger’s final album.

And there is no doubt that ‘Teleology‘ is a fitting tribute to her 70-plus years as a working musician, feminist and activist.

This is no apologetic or quiet farewell – she’s going out with a thoughtful, philosophical and very satisfying bang.

Peggy’s voice and songwriting are still major forces to be reckoned with. The album features nine brand new songs and two re-interpretations spanning the pillars that have sustained her career.

Written and recorded with family members – established musician sons, Neill and Calum (who also produced the album) and daughter-in-law, Kate St John – Teleology is sheer class, suffused with love and respect.

Peggy celebrated her 90th Birthday during a 25-date, Farewell Tour.

Moira McCrossan and Hugh Taylor were at the Glasgow gig and caught up with her again after the tour had ended.

You can listen to Peggy in conversation with them on the Album of the Week Show today at midday.
