Album of the Week – Scold’s Bridle ‘Timeless’

Written by on September 13, 2025

English folk musicians, SCOLD’S BRIDLE celebrate 50 years as a duo with the release of their second album, appropriately titled, Timeless.

Sue Bousfield (English concertina) and Liz Walmisley, (guitar and bouzouki) have a repertoire that ranges from ballads and music hall songs to material written specifically for them, which Liz sets to music.

The two singers from the Fylde Coast met by chance harmonizing in a car park after a Fleetwood Folk Club night, resulting in a close friendship and their musical partnership.

They have performed at major festivals including Sidmouth, Buxton, and the Fylde Folk Festival, where they appeared for 35 consecutive years.

Timeless was released to celebrate their 50th anniversary at their Golden Jubilee Concert earlier this year.

Sue and Liz will be in conversation with Hugh Taylor on the Album of the Week Show today at midday.
