Stewart Fenwick shows

Stewart Fenwick has over 40 years of broadcasting experience, having started out with his school radio station, Radio Lornshill, in Alloa.

From there he spent 8 years on University Radio Airthrey at Stirling University, ending his time there with a 24-hour long marathon broadcast.

In 1991, he joined Central FM as their Country music presenter, starting off with a mere 15 minutes, increasing, at one point, to 7 hours a week.

During this time, he broadcast live from several local Country music festivals, and even live from the CMA Awards in Nashville, and the Canadian Country Music Awards in Ottawa.

Stewart is one of the original broadcasters from Celtic Music Radio’s first special event broadcasts from Celtic Connections back in 2006 and broadcast his 500th programme on the station in November 2017. During the first 500 programmes, Stewart had played 2342 different Country artists from around the world, including 181 from Scotland.

He has also been well represented in the specialised Country music press, having been published in Country Music People, Country Music News, Country Music Routes, and most notably, Country Music & Dance in Scotland, which celebrated its 30th birthday in 2019. Stewart contributes CD reviews and other articles to the bi-monthly publication, known as “the bible” for Country music fans across Scotland.

Throughout his career, Stewart has interviewed over 400 artists from local singers & songwriters, to (then) up and coming Nashville stars like Garth Brooks, Shania Twain and Alan Jackson.
