Album of the Week – Simon Kempston & Paul Tasker ‘Tangled Strings

When two of Scotland’s foremost acoustic guitarists get together to make music something special is bound to happen.

And it has on this debut album that took the talented duo three years to complete.

The eight original compositions of guitar – and occasional banjo – duets showcase perfectly their prowess and dexterity, and their ability to flawless conjure up different moods, pace and passion.

As one critic wrote: “….this album is a diverse musical journey through a landscape of stunningly intricate arrangements and magical shifting soundscapes.”

Simon and Paul, who won critical acclaim for the Edinburgh Fringe Show ‘Songs Without Words’, will be talking to Liz Clark – aka Auntie Liz – on the Album of the Week Show today at midday.
