CELTIC MUSIC RADIO will be at the heart of Celtic Connections for the 20th year in a row.
The world-famous festival in Glasgow gets under way this week (Thursday, January 16) and the station’s live coverage is extensive and comprehensive.
It will offer eight hours of outside broadcasts from the city’s Royal Concert Hall daily for ten weekdays with live sessions of music, interviews and news.
More than 60 guests will be appearing over the two weeks of Concert Hall programmes.
And there will be live, daily coverage of the hugely popular Danny Kyle Open Stage (DKOS) shows from the Concert Hall as well.
Our normal, round-the-clock schedules will be running uninterrupted during this period.
Chair of the station’s board of directors, Alex Jenkins, said: “This is an exciting period for Celtic Music Radio.
“Providing around 90 hours of live shows from the Royal Concert Hall demonstrates clearly the commitment and expertise of our volunteers.
“It’s a real tribute that our volunteers’ massive effort is welcomed by the festival. We are pleased, once again, to be a major part of it.”
Liz Clark, producer, presenter and trustee of DKOS, said: “Celtic Music Radio is the DKOS’ highly valued media partner and its live broadcasts each and every evening again are hugely popular.
“There will be quality musicians on stage and excellent live music being broadcast, which is a unique and winning combination.”
