Album Of The Week – Guillaume Tiberghien ‘Ça doit être l’Amour’

Written by on July 18, 2025

A French singer-songwriter from Paris, Guillaume Tiberghien has called Scotland home for the past decade.

Drawing inspiration from ‘new folk’ artists such as Kings of Convenience and Hollow Coves, as well as the rich traditions of French folk music, his sound blends delicate melodies with heartfelt storytelling.

Ça doit être l’amour – It Must Be Love is the translation – is Guillaume’s second studio album.

It delivers a collection of intimate and evocative songs, sung in French and English, reflecting on his experiences of life in the stunning Dumfries and Galloway region.

He is joined by his daughter, Jasmine, who played a key role in the creation of the album. Together they have become familiar faces at the Moniaive Folk Festival and the Big Burns Supper.

Guillaume will be talking to Hugh Taylor about his music on the Album of the Week show this weekend.

ALBUM OF THE WEEK SHOW – Guillaume Tiberghien in conversation with Hugh Taylor – SATURDAY,  July 19, 2025 – midday.
