Album of the Week – Kirsten Adamson ‘Dreamviewer’
Written by celtic music radio on September 26, 2025
This third album from Scottish singer/songwriter, KIRSTEN ADAMSON is a powerful and emotionally charged collection, delivered in a distinctive and compelling manner.
There’s a real intimacy in these marvellous songs and they also readily yield dreamy, forthright and uplifting feelings.
On Dreamviewer, Kirsten – she’s the daughter of Scottish rock legend Stuart Adamson (Big Country/Skids) – moves from guitar pop to chiming country to heart-tugging ballads flawlessly, storytelling with ease no matter the pace or the volume.
The 11 songs are co-written, mostly with long term collaborator, Jon Mackenzie, and one each with Dave Burn, William Douglas and Dean Owens.
Produced at Karma Studios in London by award winning producer, Joe Harvey-Whyte (whose previous credits include work with Liam Gallagher, Tony Visconti and Billy Bragg), the album has been described as having the unguarded intimacy of Neil Young’s On The Beach or Tom Petty’s Wildflowers – high praise, indeed.
Kirsten will be talking with Mike Ritchie on our Album of the Week Show today at midday.
