I am a proud Paisley Buddie who spent his entire 34-year teaching career down in Inverclyde. I was a Primary Heidie for 21 years in the east end of Greenock and I live with my wife, Kathleen, in Gourock.

When I retired I worked for Inverclyde Radio. I joined Celtic Music Radio about two and a half years ago and have loved doing my Wednesday “Jukebox” since then.

I describe my programme as “an eclectic mix of Celtic, folk, world, singer-songwriters, Americana and up and coming talent -with the occasional curveball thrown in.”

In the past, I have done 2-hour long tributes to Bob Dylan and to Michael Marra and am currently planning to do a World Music special.

I am lucky enough to go to a lot of gigs and have recently been appointed a director of the Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock.

I try to have a conversational style when presenting and to have an air of spontaneity on the programme: in short, I love music and I love talking about it.
