Station Goes Live In Northern Ireland

Celtic Music Radio is pleased to announce that the station is now available on DAB digital radio outside Scotland for the first time.

Listeners in Newry in Northern Ireland can now hear the station on DAB in a trial that will run until late December.

It is hoped CMR will be available on DAB in North Ayrshire before Christmas as well.

This news demonstrates that the community station – run by volunteers – is determined to expand.

“We have been providing a service via DAB in the Greater Glasgow and Edinburgh areas for some time,” said Alex Jenkins, chair of the station’s board of directors.

“We were pleased to add Inverclyde more recently and the service available in Northern Ireland clearly shows we are committed to the continuing deliver of quality programming to more and more listeners.”
