Album of the Week – Elgin And The Marbles ‘The Sun Never Sets’
Written by celtic music radio on April 4, 2026

This punchy debut album by Glasgow’s newest indie-folk storytellers ELGIN AND THE MARBLES is described as “a semi-concept album” outlining the last decade of Britain.
The band is fronted by Callum Baird, a Glasgow-based songwriter, who was editor of The National for seven years and is now editor-in-chief of a publishing group that includes The Herald and Glasgow Times.
Over the course of 12 original tracks the perceptive songs cleverly and seamlessly veer from the satirical to the funny and tender.
Callum will be discussing them in depth on the Album of the Week Show today at midday with Hugh Taylor.
