Album of the Week – Kris Drever ‘Doing This For Love’

This album from the multi-award winning Scottish contemporary folk musician and songwriter, KRIS DREVER was ‘made with love for anyone who labours for love.’

These are the Orkney-born, Glasgow-based artist’s own words for a ten-strong collection of songs started during covid and finished in the studio in September last year.

He admits to struggling with the material for a while but that ended with him going into the GloWorm Studios in Glasgow to start recording.

“Everyone who helped make these versions of these songs did it with generosity and clarity,” said Kris. “The music community in Glasgow is truly magnificent, so much comradeship, such responsible use of so much outrageous ability, a dream place to be working.”

These are everyday life songs presented with style and heart and Kris will be chatting about his work with Liz Clark – aka Auntie Liz – on the Album of the Week Show today.
