Album of the Week – Paul Walker and Karen Pfeiffer ‘Cheaper than Therapy’

This is the fifth album from Anglo-German folk duo, Paul Walker and Karen Pfeiffer and it’s mainly a collection of songs written by Paul.
One of the most popular acts on the contemporary folk scene, the duo’s music is based on strong vocal harmonies, Paul’s distinctive guitar style and Karen’s contributions on recorder, tin whistle and other woodwind instruments.
Their partnership began in 2012 after Staffordshire singer-songwriter Paul heard Karen, originally from Stuttgart, busking in a city-centre park in Germany and invited her to perform in England.
What started as a musical collaboration quickly developed into a successful touring act.
They will be talking to Hugh Taylor about the new release, the stories behind the songs and insights into the writing and arranging process on the Album of the Week Show on Saturday.
