Album of the Week – Dàna ‘The Deep End’

Written by on June 20, 2026

This dynamic, all-female, Glasgow-based band thrives on delivering traditional music that clearly reflects their name.

In Gaelic Dàna means bold or audacious and everyone can agree these descriptions apply to this exciting album.

Each member – Anna Robertson, Eleanor Tout, Laura Penman and Alex Wotherspoon – draws on unique regional influences and dialects as well to forge a fresh and distinctive sound.

Winners of Up and Coming Artist of the Year 2025 at the Scots Trad Music Awards and Danny Kyle Open Stage winners at this year’s Celtic Connections, the talented quartet has built up a strong presence and fine reputation since graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland two years ago.

Upcoming gigs include appearances at Kelburn Garden Party, HebCelt, The Edinburgh International Festival and Glasgow Ceilidh Cabag.

They will be chatting about ‘The Deep End’ with Liz Clark – aka Auntie Liz – on the Album of the Week Show today at midday.

• ALBUM OF THE WEEK SHOW – Dàna in conversation with host, Liz Clark – Saturday, June 20, 2026 – noon.
