Written by on March 14, 2022

John Joe MacNeil launches his new programme – John Joe MacNeil Live – today, featuring the finest folk, traditional and Gaelic music, as well as a host of special guests.

On his first show on a Monday, John Joe will welcome singer/songwriter, Abigail Pryde in the opening hour of the programme with the first play of her upcoming single, There Isn’t a Book.

Her song writing has all the country feeling you could ask for – if you’re fan of Dolly Parton, Kacey Musgraves and Tenille Townes, Abigail’s music is certainly for you.

In the second hour of the programme, Edinburgh-born singer/songwriter, Lewis McLaughlin will join John Joe to chat about his forthcoming album release and his musical inspirations.

Music from Karine Polwart, Le Vent du Nord, Bonnie Raitt and Battlefield Band will also be in the vibrant, two-hour mix.

“I am looking forward to the show on a different day and in the new time slot,” said John Joe.

“And I’m pleased to say I’ve got a sparkling list of guests lined up for every programme, starting with Abigail and Lewis.

“A’ coimhead air adhart ris gu mòr.”
