Dàimh’s seventh album and first studio recording in five years, The Rough Bounds is released exactly 20 years on from our first ever concert. Translated from the Gaelic Na Garbh Chrìochan, The Rough Bounds is the area of West Lochaber where Dàimh was formed. Still based in the area, the band’s roots remain firmly tied to the region by the enduring connections of the 3 remaining founding members.

Grow Your Own Music Session LogoThanks to The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Youth Development Fund, administered by Creative Scotland, the TMSA are looking to support young musicians and singers across Scotland (aged 18-26) to run traditional music sessions in their area. We expect each session to be lead by a small group who can organise and promote a programme of approximately 10 sessions between August-December, in a local venue. Funded musicians will receive payment to host sessions as well as a bursary to participate in a one-day training event with leading musicians in the field. For more information and to apply by the deadline of Tuesday 29 May, visit www.gyoms.org.uk. If you know of any venues or organisations that might be interested in getting involved supporting groups of young musicians locally please let us know.

Glaswegian AC Weir releases his debut album  on Greentrax at 77 years of age… This album is selling like hot-cakes!


‘All the songs on This Has Been Me Since Yesterday’ were written by Alex Weir, who in his spare time accumulated a significant body of work over the years. Original versions of his songs were recorded on an old reel-to-reel tape recorder at various points from the mid-1960s to the early 1990s, but were never designed for public consumption.
