Streaming To The USA Halted

Celtic Music Radio, regretfully, is no longer able to stream directly any programmes to the USA due to sound recording copyright and digital performance royalty issues that have been brought to our attention.

Our Music Licence covers us for radio broadcasting in our designated areas: Glasgow on FM and DAB to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverclyde.

Our webcasters licence allows streaming, but not to the USA so we are now taking steps to comply with relevant copyright regulations.

We realise this will be a major disappointment to the many US listeners who enjoy our programming, but under the circumstances, it is unavoidable.

After due consideration, paying for a licence to overcome this important matter is considered an expense too far for the station, which is led by music-loving volunteers with the help of sponsorship, advertising and  listeners’ generous donations.

Our scheduling and programme output is otherwise unchanged.
