Travels With My Auntie Liz – Special Guest : Allan Taylor
Written by celtic music radio on June 23, 2026
It’s been 60 years since singer/songwriter Allan Taylor left home to busk his way to Sweden to fulfil his dream of being a travelling troubadour – and what an amazing musical journey it’s been.
He may have said farewell to a life on the road but he’s still got the stories to tell and he will be sharing tales of 60 years in 60 minutes on this week’s edition of Travels With My Auntie Liz, hosted by Liz Clark .
To quote lines from one of Allan’s own songs, it’s time for him to “take it down easy, take it down slow.”
“It’s impossible to condense into 60 minutes Allan’s life in music but the stories he shares are always interesting insights into his successful career,” said Liz. “Some of his songs have been recorded by international stars with ‘It’s Good To See You’ covered by more than a hundred different artists.
“And Ed Sheeran is now a fan having discovered Allan’s music via a New York record store. Allan is well worth listening to so I am really pleased to have him as a special guest.”
Allan has released ‘It’s Been Good To See You’ which has the intriguing stories about how each song on the album came about.
